accommodation in Chowara, Kerala hello all, I'm going to Kerala March 1st - March 16th and need to stay in or close to Chowara for first 10 days. Traveling alone and on budget so need a cheaper accomodation. How far is Lighthouse beach from Chowara? There seem to be few cheaper places there.. Does anyone have experience with staying at Ideal Ayurvedic Resort or Dr. Franklin's Panchakarma institute? They seem to be around the area.. Last six days I can go somewhere else.. Any ideas? Many thanks ![]()

You can go by bus from Kovalam - Lighthouse beach to Chowara. But you have to change the bus at Kovalam junction, so it is not so close. What is "close" for you?

Federica, Thanks for your reply. I was looking for something walking distance as i have to be in Chowara twice a day.. I found Ideal Ayurvedic resort is close to where i need to be so I think I will go ahead and book with them. I have 5-6 days to go someplace else after i finish my classes in Chowara. Do you recomend Kovalam beach? Any budget/safe/single traveler friendly accommodation there you can recomend? Thank you

I'd suggest a visit to Kovalam during your time in Chowara, then you can decide whether it suits you. Another option if you'd like to stay on a beach would be Varkala, 45 min by train from Trivandrum. It's impossible for me to make a recommendation, as I don't know you, your preferences etc. ![]()
