A Day with elephant.

I invite you to have a look at video of Spend a Day with an Elephant in Kerala. It is for 10 minutes.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m3fV2GuONzo

You could see video uninterupted, when you click "watch again" after it is seen once.

If you find the video interesting, this is not an advt. If not, treat this as an advt.

My connection makes streaming video a pain, so I haven't seen the video, but on a related thread I posted:

Quote:
There are one or two established members who have made no secret that they are in the trade. I ask them not to push the 'no agents no advertising' rules because we value their contributions as individuals. It's tough to deny new members when people can say, 'but look what X is doing'. We don't enjoy closing accounts.
Whether it is justified so far as this thread is concerned, someone else will to decide, but the general point stands.

That's one word for it. I find it rather depressing to see the greatest animal on earth in chains with fat arsed tourists on its back.

The video doesn't work.

In any event why should I wait to download an advert?

I can't get the video at all: just a page of HTML code

How can I delete a post or shutdown a thread without knowing what it is all about? Hello, my fellow Mods!

Have to say I'm suspicious.....

If you think that the post has to be to removed, please do so. No objection.

But, we are not selling elephant rides. Trichur, my hometown has reputation of having elephants at home. It was prestegious to have elephants in the garden. Now, there are 300 captive elephants in Trichur. Now a days, keeping a elephant turned out to be a business. Some of them are not looked after very well. I have worked with Swiss Animal welfare to conduct mahout training courses and with many journalist for books, radio and TV about captive elephants in Kerala.

We are giving a oppurtunity to know more about captive elephants and to interact with them. They are not working elephants. But, used for temple festivals and temple cerimonies. It is a part of the traditions. In the video, the elephant Mahadevan is one of the most handsome elephants in Kerala. White nails, good structure, good behaviour and he is very well looked after. And the elephant is here for the temple festivals. "fat ....tourists" Is it the right word to describe the tourists in a travel forum? See how children are having a good time with elephant. http://www.palmlandtours.net/kerala/...phant_tour.htm I am curious to know your remarks on such a tour.

Unfortunately, we do not have wildlife here. so, this 'advt' would not help you. But, what if we show you wildlife as well?

Sorry, don't have broadband ... but am I to assume this is a free excursion!? I suppose I could bring some peanuts and a few bananas for the poor critters. Hope there are no poop & scoop rules. .... On second thought I might give it a pass!
