2 weeks in Kerala

Hello all

I will be in Kerala for 2 weeks from 6th December. I have a vague plan in my head but I wanted to run it past you to see what you thought:

Kochi
Munnar or Nelliampathy - any thoughts on this???
Periyar
Varkala
Backwaters (Allepey)
Kochi

Is this feasible in 2 weeks?

I wasn't going to book accommodation before I went (maybe just for when I arrive in Kochin). I'm assuming it will be easy enough to find places along the way?

Can anyone recommend a place to stay in Kochi?

From a travelling direction point of view, Munnar is more logical than Nelliyampathy, also it is much higher in elevation with more to see considering that you will be just about 2 days in each place. Otherwise, you have fitted in everything quite neatly. You may want to knock off a place or two depending on your interests, bearing in mind that one day, more or less, goes in travelling from point to point.

How do you plan to travel - by private taxi or public transport?

Since you are visiting in December, it may be better to at least check ahead about availability, and book if it is going to be really full up - perhaps not, everyone says that due to the global recession, tourism will take a hit, but you never know.

Have a look in the Hotels section and the Sticky according to your budget estimate.

Thanks for the advice. I was planning to have a driver for the most part.

Maybe I will reduce the places as I don't want to be rushing around for the whole time. I'm hoping for some relaxtion.
