Weekend in bangalore and Around.. Please suggest
Hi All,
I will be in bangalore on 19th October, for an office meet for a day, and then I will have weekend to visit some places. Whats are the places that can be covered in full saturday and half sunday, considering will have flight to Delhi Sunday evening. Can I cover Mysore and Ooty, If I hire a taxi. Bangalore to Ooty, which is around 260KM I guess. What are Taxi charges? What are other ways, like Volvo buses etc? Will I have to stay at ooty for saturday night and come back to bangalore on Sunday? What are the 3 star level accommodation in ooty? |

Ooty will be a bit too much, as you will spent six hours one way to Ooty. I would hire a car for two days, head for Mysore. See the sights, sleep there overnight, climb Chamundi Hill (from the bottum!!) and have yourself delivered to the airfield straight from Mysore.

Leave to Mysore on saturday morning. You can see srirangapatna on the way...then go to mysore ... see the zoo, mysore palace and in the evening you can go to brindavan garden and see the lights and the krishnaraja sagar Dam...you can stay in mysore saturday night and then on sunday morning you can see chamundi hills and then straight away head towards bangalore.
You can hire a tata indica car for this. ooty will be a bit toomuch as you have to come back to Bangalore by sunday evening. |

The day or two before dusara..it is real difficult to get any accomodation in Mysore. It is a wonderful display of cultural events and a procession taking Godess Chamundeshwari on the Elephant.

This weekend will be nearly impossible in Mysore, accomodation & crowd wise. I suggest you spend the day in Mysore and take the taxi into Bandipur (try Tiger ranch resort in Bandipur forest). You can see a little bit of Bandipur the next day and head back to Blore in the afternoon. Else you may want to spend the weekend in Bandipur itself, its lovely.
