Visiting Mangalore in September

Sir,

I would like to visit along with my family to Mangalore in September 27th Night. I am reaching Mangalore from Chennai by train. Reaching Mangalore on 28th September (Wed) by around 1.00 p.m.

I want to visit Mangalore Temple, Udupi, Kollur Mookambigai, Dharmasala, Subramania and other places. From there i want to go to Mysore and i would like to visit Coorg also. Will you please put an itinerary to me. I am returning to Chennai from mysore on 3rd October (Mon) night.

28 - Mangalore sights - Mangalamba temple, Kateel Durga Parameshwari temple, Relax in beach in the evening
29 - Leave early morning at 7 AM. reach Udupi by 8. have breakfast at Diana or Mitra Samaj. Visit temple. Leave Udupi by 10 AM. Reach Kollur at 11 AM. Visit temple. Have Lunch in temple or have lunch in Kundapur in Shetty lunch home (if you are non veg enjoy chicken ghee roast and Kane fish fry). After lunch visit Malpe beach and go to St Mary's island by boat and return before sun set. Drive back to Mangalore.
30 - Leave Mangalore at 7. Drive straight to Dharmasthala. Visit temple. Aftre visiting drive to Subramanya. Visit temple. have lunch in temple. Depart for Coorg via Sulya. Reach Madikeri by evening. rest.
01 - Madikeri, Abbe falls, Talacauveri, Dubare sight seeing. Stay in Madikeri
02 - Leave Madikeri early morning. Drive to Mysore. On the way visit Budhas Golden temple at Bylakuppe. On reaching Mysore head straight to Palace. In the evening visit Brindavan gardens.
03 - Visit Chamundi hills and Zoo. Leave for Sri Rangapatna. Visit temple, Dariya Daulat and Bird sanctuary. Come back to Mysore and catch train.

Hope this helps. I am assuming that you will be hiring a taxi at Mangalore and keeping it with you till you depart from mysore. Else it will be difficult to cover all places.

Thanks, a lot for your detailed reply. I hope by following your itinerary i can finish of all the places. (I am a vegetarian and prefers south indian food)In mysore i visited all the places previously so is there is any other place to visit in and around Mangalore or enroute.

Hi Ranga,

You would have more or less covered all the places on the way. I am not sure how much taxis cost. It will be similar to what they will be charging in Chennai. Since you will be hiring the taxi in mangalore and depart from Mysore, these guys will also calculate the mileage from Mysore to Mangalore and charge it to you.
