urgent help needed

hey guys,i am from chennai and want to visit shringeri with friends for piligrimage.but after shringeri have a day in hand and plan on jog falls,is there some other super place to visit in that area can we stay a night at jog falls?i mean hotels and stuff.is it worth staying a whole day,or any other super place there bcoz i have gone once to shringeri and the forests on the way down to mangalore were awesome are they like explorable or something let me know.this is our tentative itenary-
dec9-afternoon train to bangalore,11o clock train to shimoga
dec10-reach shringeri and spend nite there
dec11-early moring leave shringeri to jog falls??or/and someotherplace
dec11 nite or 12 morn leave for bangalore and hit the pubs on brigade/mg!!!!
dec13 back to chennai
ok people please tell me where to go from 11 morn to 12 morn max (bcoz 12 nite we have to be in bangalore) and as fast as u can coz we have to book tickets
