| Its not the best time to visit coorg. However no harm. (I ahve been there during the rains too) I agree with ribhu95, Hire a Car from Bangalore. (Car rates would be around 6 per km and a min of around 250 kms, Plus driver bata, etc for a innova. or +/-10 for a Scorpio...Innova ) Also Kamat enroute to Mysore. Its a very good road. 1(a)Depending on from where in bangalore your start form Mysore would be around 2.5 hours. (b)Mysore to coorg - Around 5-6 Hours.(c)Coorg to Nagarhole - Around 2 Hours. (d) Continue on that road to bangalore - ~ 8 Hours. 2. Good Companyies in bangalore are Hertz, India Travel House, etc (Too many), A good company in mysore is BITS. If you are going in a taxi from bangalore, you could visit the Nimishamba temple and Ranganathittu bird centuary on your way to mysore. Places to cover are Mysore Palace, Camundi hills, St. Philomenas Church, Jagmohan Palace, Lalit Mahal Palace, Mysore Zoo and brindavan gardens in the evenign for the musical fountain. Also you could visit Srirangapatna if you ahve time. 3. Many places in a few kms from madikere and not in the town. Raja Seat : Visit in the evening for sunset - Also have a a mussical fountains in the evening. Madikeri Fort Omkareshwara Temple Abbey Falls : Take a deviation before Madikeri , (theres a sign board.) < 10 kms - Could spend around 20 mins or so here. (Miss this if you are in a tight shedule) Talakaveri - Source of Cauvery river - Religiuos place also. 40-50 Kms from Madikeri. Bhagamandala Temple When you are enroute mysore-madikeri at a place called Bylakuppe near kushalnagar there is a buddish monastary - golden temple - Visit it. Dubbare Elephant camp (Also a deviation from kushalnagar) Nisargadhama (2-3 Kms from the kushalnagar) You could visit the above places before you go to Siddhpur. 4. If you dont hire a car from bangalore or mysore , Then make sure to hire one here and I said most places would eb far away from town and with the child taxi would be a better option. 5. No Comment : However where would you leave your child? Also dont expect any huge / close wildlife spotting. I also dont knwo if the forst officials allow the child inside the vehicle. A good hotel in madikeri is East End, There was one more hetel where I went in for coorgi food, Forgot the name,Will brushup my mind and be back. |
