Hi Satish,

Welcome to IM.

If at all you are not aware , Nagarhole NP & Madikeri are tthere in coorg /Kodagu District only.

For such a large group , it's next to impossible to get any dormitory atleast in Nagarhole.

A Sample itenary for 2 days I would say:

Day 1:
1)If you could start at Bangalore early (Around 5.30 am) take Bangalore - Mandya-Srirangapatna(You need to take right towards Ranganathittu Bird Sanctuary and this way you can bypass Mysore and save around 20 kms at the least)-Elivala-Hunsur-Nagarhole NP.There is forest safaris in Nagarhole NP between 6-9am and 3-6pm. And it will be very much difficult for you to reach for the morning safari. No problem , you will be driving around 18 kms within the forest itself on your own to reach the Safari office and in this route itself, there is maximum probablity of sighting Elephants, Deers,Peacocks Atleast. If you go on the actual safari, you could see Fox,Wild boar in addition.
2) You could cross over the Nagarhole NP and you could take the exit in the other side of the NP and visit iruppu Falls + temple you could visit (Which is around 17 kms from the Forest dept gate) - 1 km trek is required to view the falls.
3) From Iruppu Falls you could drive directly towards Madikeri and for sure you could reach around 5 pm (Madikeri is around 80 kms from Iruppu Falls).
4) You could visit Raja's seat for the entire evening (5 - 7 pm is the best time to visit).

Day 2:-
1) Start Early around 5.30 am and drive to Talacauvery (62 kms from Madikeri) via Bhagamandala .(Bhagamandala to Talacuavery is so so scenic)
2) Drive back and visit Bhagamandala temple and contiue towards Madikeri
3) After Reaching Madikeri, Drive towards Abbey falls (Around 8 km from Madikeri) -- Picturesque falls .Just 1 km walk
4)Start from madikeri at around 2 pm and drive down towards mysore.
5)On the way, on the Right(Once you reach the plains) you could see "Cauvery nishadharma" (A Small island formed by River cauvery) with Bamboo trees, Elephant Safari + few deers in closet
6) Continue driving towards mysore and drive past Kushal Nagara and you could Take a Right turn at a place called Koppa to visit Tibetan Golden Temple/ Tibetan settlements.
7)Start by 7 pm or so and you could reach Bangalore by 11 pm or so.

For Food:-
1) If you are planning to take the required utensils etc for cooking, you could stop &cook at roadside at any place Except inside Nagarhole NP and lots of places enroute you could just stop and cook. There is no issues.
2) If at all you are planning to use only hotels, Hotel Kamath (In BNG-MYS road), Followed by Hunsur (2 Veg hotels are there is Hunsur byepass (Hunsur-Madikeri road),Iruppu Falls do not have any hotels BUT quite a lot of homestay kitchens you could try out with. Madikeri has many hotels and bhagamandala/ Talacauvery has none. While coming back from madikeri towards Mysore , Kushal Nagara has numerous decent hotels and once you leave kushal Nagara, Only you have SH-17 Dhabas (Srirangapatna-Bangalore)

Accomodation I don't have any idea BUT Madikeri atleast will have options to accomodate such a large group at economical rates !

Hope this helps & In case you have any further questions, Please Post !

PM VELU, you have really given very comprehensive details.

I am planning to visit that region later this year or early next year, especially as my uncle told me he saw a wild tiger on the banks of the Kabini, and will contact you if I may, for more info whenever the trip is planned.

Thanks a lot PMV. I am so happy for my uncle, he is 86 years old, an extraordinarily fit WWII veteran who lost his vivacious daughter, my cousin, suddenly when she was barely 35 years old - that was 15 years ago. He and my aunt have done a lot of exemplary work in rural areas of South India, and truly deserve the very best in their old age. They are very fond of me. I suppose I remind them of their daughter as I love nature and jungles as she did.
