Sera - Dalai Lama
Just a word for anyone who is planning to go to Sera for the Dalai Lama's visit and teachings.
If you're not already there and in accomodation there then you can forget turning up and getting some. All three guesthouses in Sera are fully booked up until he leaves. Apparently there is a guesthouse in camp 3 but I'd have to assume that is booked up too. Probably best idea is to start off looking for something in Kushal Nagar. btw it is lovely in Sera at the moment (just spent the day there on Saturday), the skies are blue, the sun is out, there are flags all over the place, and they have fixed the road. There is a real buzz to the place (obviously). All of it a contrast since I was there 5 weeks ago, when the weather was a bit dreary. more info at: http://www.tibet.com/teachings.html PS don't forget to apply for you Protected Area Permit at least 3 months in advance. ![]() |
