Road conditions & Safety for a trip from Chennai to Mangalore & nearby Temples

Hi
We are two families of four planning to travel in self driven Innova to Mangalore and surrounding important temple towns as per the schedule given below. I want to know the following:
1. Is it doable in the time frame indicated especially considering the road conditions, traffic, closure of temples in the mid-day etc.
2. Are the roads selected OK or alternatives are better? I would prefer lesser traffic.
Day 1- CHENNAI-> HASSAN- (NH4,NH48,NH7 & NH75)- 536kms.- Dep.5:00/Arr.14:30.- Halt for the night.

Day 2- HASSAN-> SUBRAHMANYA- (NH75 upto Gundya, SH114,SH37)- 100kms.- Dep.5:30/Arr.7:30
SUBRAHMANYA-> DHARMASTHALA- (NH37)- 55kms.- Dep.9:00/Arr.10:30.
DHARMASHTALA-> HORANADU- (SH37,NH73,SH66,SH106)- 100kms.- Dep.12:30/Arr.14:30
HORANADU-> SRINGERI- (SH66,NH169)- 77kms.- Dep.16:00/Arr.18:00- Halt for the night.

Day 3- SRINGERI-> KOLLUR- (SH27)- 110kms.- Dep.7:00/Arr.10:00
KOLLUR-> MURUDESWAR- (SH,NH66 or is it NH17??)- 60kms.- Dep.11:00/Arr.12:30
MURUDESWAR-> UDUPI- (NH66)- 103kms.- Dep.14:30/Arr.16:30.
UDUPI-> MANGALORE- (NH66)- 65kms.- Dep.18:00/Arr.19:30.- Halt for the night.

Day 4- Site seeing in and around MANGALORE & SURATHKAK.

Day 5- MANGALORE-> BANGALORE- (NH75)or (NH73 upto Belur,SH, NH75from Hassan to Bangalore)- 370kms.- Dep.8:00/Arr.16:00.

Please guide me.

CA note: as most of your trip is in karnataka, I've moved this thread to that forum for better advice

Dear Dhisha,

I have Visited all the places mentioned last year december.

Subramanya,Dharmasthala are even though GHAT section may not take much time.

But Shringeri and horanadu will take lot of time as it is
fully ghat and bit difficult road.

thanks,
CSReddy.

Dear CSReddy
Thanks a lot for the information. Regarding the Horanadu- Shringeri road - is it narrow road with lot of traffic or a bad road and difficult to increase the speed? How much time should I consider for this stretch? I hope that Dharmasthala- Horanadu road is OK and the time assumed to trval this distance is OK. Would be grateful for the above clarification.
Regards
Dhisha

Once again thanks a lot.
1. I take it that, the above clarification is for Horanadu- Sringeri road. Is the traffic heavy here? Do they stop one direction traffic and allow the traffic from the opposite site and vice-versa in a cyclic order?
2. What about Dharmasthala- Horanadu road? Is it also narrow and the same rule applies as above? Is 100 kms possible in 2 hrs.?
Regards
Dhisha
