Places to visit around mangalore..

Hello friends,

recently, my brother got relocated to Udupi near Mangalore for his job. Since he's new to this place, he hasn't got much opportunity to explore places in and around Mangalore.

I'd request members of this forum, to provide some inputs on options like weekend getaways, or which might be do-able in 4-5 days from Mangalore...I'd like to have all possible options (e.g. beaches, mountains, etc).

Now that you have asked let me list out quite a many places around.

From Udupi:-
1. St. Mary's Island (Off Malpe fishing jetty)
2. Krishna Temple right in the heart of city
3. Kodachadri Hills
4. Kollur Temple
5. Sringeri Temple
6. Agumbe sunset point
7. Maravanthe beach(Sea on one side and river on other side of the road)
8. Kaup beach (lighthouse is on the beach and you can go up and experiance the magnificient view)

From Mangalore:-
1. Summer sands beach
2. Taneerbhavi beach
3. Kateel Temple
4. Dharmasthala Temple
5. Bekal Fort (Kasaragod)

If you are willing to spend 4-5 days, you have goa within your reach Also gokarna, murudeshwar, karwar are on the way (NH17).
