Dear IMers,
We are planning a 4 day outing to dandeli from bangalore. We have done booking for Kulgi nature camp. Plz let us know about any/all the places worth visiting around dandeli. We plan to hire a jeep so commutation would not be a problem. Thanks Satyaa |

There are lots of places around Dandeli - but, none really close by.
Because of the mountaneous nature of the region and the condition of the roads, travel between places is difficult. Visit Devbagh island in karwar, karwar town itself, yana, gokarna, murudeshwar, malpe, honnavar, the entire coastal belt of karnataka is fabulous. You will enjoy. I suggest that you do a bike journey. if u can download a map of karnataka from somewhere, you will be able to locate all these places in the map. Enjoy your trip. |

Satyaa,
You can do rafting in the Kali River rapids. I was lodged in Kali River Lodge and they organice this activities. I'm sure other lodges will do it. Gokarna and Karwar are not far from there but the roads are not very good. You can also pay a visit to Saundatti the place of "The slave girls of Yellamma" a very interesting way to know the Devadasi's reality. Jorge |
