@Rajdeep,

Did you mean the Entry to Nagarahole NP is closed ?. I would like to know more info. Yes, I know you planned for a bike trip and I answered too in your thread. Could you please elaborate !.

Which route you took and where exactly the entry is closed.

Thanks
Velu

To Surchit:-

My Comments online

Q:- Mysore
Day 1
1:00 PM to 3:00 PM Hotel check in / Cab fixing
3:00 PM to 8:00 PM Brindhavan Garden

In Brindavan you could plan between 5 to 8 pm . Until 5 pm it will be normally deserted and won't be appealing !

Q:-Day 2

7:00 AM to 12:00 PM Mysore Palace / Philomena church /Srirangapatinam

Mysore Palace opens at around 10 am and Much of the tourist spots in Shrirangapatna opens at 9 am . Shirangapatna Tourism places needs around 3 hours to cover ! Mysore Palace in weekends will take around 1 1/2 hours to cover ! Plan Accordingly.

Q:-2:00 PM to 8:00 PM Chamundeswari temple / Lalith mahal / Mysore zoo

Lalitha mahal is Now a "5 Star Hotel" and is not part of tourist spot as such. But yes, you can see it from outside and when you drive up "Chamundi hills" this palace will be very much visible and in Late evenings / nights, again this Hotel will be Glittering with lights !.

You could plan out Zoo first followed by a visit to Chamundi hills and 5 - 7 pm is best out there for Viewing Mysore City !

Q:- Coorg
Day 3
6:00 AM to 12:00 PM Nisargadhama / Goldentemple / Madikeri

2:00 PM to 8:00 PM Talacauvery

Talacauvery needs totally around 4 hours overall [To &Fro from MAdikeri including the time spent in Talacauvery] and after around 5:45 pm NONE will be there at Talacavuery ! You could get back and visit Bhagamandala [Again a Famous temple at around 8 kms from Talacauvery in the retuen route to Madikeri] and you could spend your time in "Raja's Seat" [View point at madikeri] between 5:45 pm to 7:30 pm [Around 7:30 pm, Entry to this spot closes]

Q:- Day 4 5:00 AM to 8:00 AM Dubare

It may not be needed to be at Dubare at 5 am as NONE will be there at that time. You could try to reach there by around 7:30 am !

Q:- 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM Nagerhole National Park

Not at all advisable as Safari timings is 6 -9 am and 3 - 6 pm ! Plan accorindgly

Q:- 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM Iruppu falls

You could Swap Iruppu Falls and Nagarahole NP !

Q:-8:00 PM Back to Hotel

It's absolutely no need to travel back to Madikeri for Night Stay as it's too much circuitous as just you are planning to return to Mysore the next Day morning !

From Nagarahole NP you can reach mysore in flat 2 1/2 hours in car and it's around 90 kms. So Getting back to madikeri and again travelling back to Mysore means 80 kms+ 129 kms with a total travelling time of around 6 hours ! Avoid this !

Day 5 Photo section relax
11:00 AM to 1:00 PM To Mysore
2.20 Pm Train to Bangalore starts

Hope this helps !

Velu

@Velu

Hi,

Last week we went by bike.As we were on bike we took the long route from Hunsur. We reached Kutta.
The Nagarhole Forest safari was closed. Even the Wayanad Wildlife Safari was also closed due to rainfall.

Surprising to hear this Rajdeep !.

You must be right as you visited just last week but much of the heavy monsoon is over at wayanad and Coorg 3 to 4 weeks back . Now it's intermittent Drizzles and normal Rains over there and at this juncture if the Safaris are closed, I was just overly Curious !.

Thanks for the update!!.

Cheers
Velu

P.S:- Nagarahole Forest Dept Gate at Kutta end

Hi Surchit,

PFB My comments inline !

Mysore

Day 1
1:00 PM to 3:00 PM Hotel check in / Cab fixing
4:00 PM to8:00 PM Brindhavan Garden

You could browse through the following thread for the Mysore Hotels
Mysore accommodation help!

I did shared few info from posts 24 onwards !

From Mysore Railway Station, Hotel Mayura Hoysala, Hotel King's Court,Hotel Metropole, Hotel Guru Residency is Just Walkable [Hardly 100 metres. Come out of Mysore Jn and walk straight and in 50 metres , 1 signal will be there. Just walk past straight and that's the location for all the abovemnetioned hotels]. IF you are with Luggage,go to "Pre-Paid Auto stand " at Mysore Jn campus itself and an Auto to any of those hotels shoule be Rs. 15 only Flat and that's the Minimum !

Get Cab only for KRS/ Brindavan gardens and Return to Hotel. No need to extend!

Day 2

Cab for the whole Day would be comfortable !

8:00 AM to 12:00 PM Srirangapatinam
[ Golkumbaaz, Tippu Summer Palace,Sangam, Nimishamba Temple,Ranganathittu Bird Sanctuary and Shrirangapatna to Ranganathittu BS is just around 10 kms and Ranganathittu Bs to Mysore is just 20 minutes Travel]

2:00 PM to 8:00 PM Philomina's Church / Mysore zoo/Chamundi temple [ Zoo is Closed on Tuesdays] [Chamundi Hills Darshan is closed between 6.30 pm to 7:30 pm and try to complete Darshan before 6:30 pm as the one hour closure makes a bit crowded at 7:30 pm !

Day 3
Cab for next 2 days would be comfortable !

6:00 AM to 12:00PM Nisargadhama / Goldentemple / Madikeri [If Possible, try to be there at Golden temple at 1 pm and that's the time where you can see 100's of Monks performing Rituals with Nice Music and it's too good ]. Include "Abbey Falls" !
2:00 PM to 8:00PM Talacauvery /Baghamandalam /Raja's seat
8:00 PM
To find a suitable hotel [ Hotel Mayura Valleyview , KArnataka Government Hotel is best for the price and Views [ 1000 Rs/ Night for Double bed room with 24 hours Hot water / TV] OR Hotel Chithra [Near to Madikeri Private bus stand and that's budget .. 600 Rs / Night for Double bed room with TV and no views but budget and good]. My Suggestion is first find a hotel in MAdikeri and then continue to Talacauvery etc as Much of the lodges in Madikeri the checkout time is 12:00 Noon !

Day 4 7:00 AM to9:00 AM Dubare
10:00 AM to 12:00 PM Iruppu falls
2:00 PM to 6:00 PM Nagerhole national park

Be there in Forest dept office by 2:30 pm for the 3'0 clock safari as if the first Trip gets Filledup, you need to wait until 4:30 and the third trip depends on the crowd and climate as the Safari officially closes at 6pm !
10:00 PM Back to Mysore

Even if you finish in the second Safari, you can be in mysore by 7.30 pm Max ! If this day is saturday or Sunday ask your cab wallah to drop at mysore Palace as Mysore Palace will be illuminated for an hour between 6 - 7 pm ONLY on Saturdays & Sundays !

Day 5 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM Mysore palace /Railway museum
2.20 Pm Train to Bangalore starts

For this day,do not hire a taxi. From whichever hotel you are staying [If you are in Mysore City itself], An auto will cost 20 to 25 Rs Flat to Mysore Palace !

After finishing the Palace, Hire an Auto again and it will be max 25 Rs and get down at Railway Museum and then just walk to Mysore Jn. It's just 100 Metres !! From Museum you can see the Mysore Jn Very much !Mysore Rail Museum is closed on Mondays !!

Hope this helps !

Have a Fantastic & Safe Trip !

Velu

Hi Surchit,

Just came back from a wonderful trip to coorg .Some of my observations

1-Nagarhole NP safari is closed due to rains. You can just drive between the forest.
2-The Abbey Falls are in full splendor with the rain pouring in its a must visit.
3-Its raining quite heavily in Madikeri.Carry an umbrella with you.
4- Try visiting Raja seat in the evening. There is a musical fountain show at 7p.m.
Hope the information is useful.
