| Hi All, Just came back from a 2 days tour to Coorg .The tour was booked through KSTDC.It can be booked online at www.karnatakaholidays.net.I will share the overall trip experience . DAY 1 The tour started at 7.15 am from Badami House (Corporation circle ) Bangalore. On the way bus stopped for breakfast and we reached the Tibetian Monastery at 12.30 p.m.Its a good place to visit. Then we had lunch at Kushalnagar and visited Cauvery Nisargadhama. It is a small island on the river Cauvery. One point to note - The boating and elephant ride are canceled due to rain. Then we proceeded to visit the majestic Abbey falls. This was the best moment of the trip seeing the fall in its full splendor.Be careful to wear shoes as there are plenty of blood sucking leaches on the way to the fall. Our next destination was Raja seat view point. The musical fountain was good.It starts at 7 p.m .Then the worst part of the trip was about to begin. The stay in hotel Popular woodlands was miserable. There was no light in the bathroom and the bedsheets and blankets were not clean at all and also no hot water was there.May be KSTDC can arrange for a better place and increase the price of the ticket by some amount. DAY 2 In the morning we visited TalaCauvery at morning 6 a.m.It was full of fog when we reached there. We climbed some 200 odd stairs to reach the top of a mountain. The peak was filled with cloud and the experience was breathtaking. On the way we visited Bhagamagala temple. Then we proceeded towards the Nagarhole NP.But to our disappointment the Jungle safari was canceled due to heavy rains. The travel through the park was very scenic.Saw 3-4 wild elephants and herds of deer.At 10 p.m reached Bangalore safely. The only bad experience was the stay in hotel and the disappointment was missing the jungle safari. For Rs 1435 per person including accommodation this tour is definitely worth a try. |

| Patnayak, why did they put you up in Popular Woodlands when KSTDC's own Hotel Mayura is right there at Raja Seat - which is a perfectly decent and clean hotel with great views. The rate is excellent for what they offer, assuming everything is available in the right season!

| For a tour at the height of the monsoon, patnayak did well. Many of the hotels shut down and/or give staff leave during the rains, so the Hotel Mayura may have been affected by this.
