Hi everyone,
I`m planning on taking a taxi from Kannur to Mysore in December...& then get a train to the airport in Bangalore. Any ideas how long it will take to drive, plus what would be a good rate for this journey? Thanks for your time & advice Nick |

From the time you get in into the taxi @ Mysore, it will take you about 2.5 hours for reaching blore and then provide provide 1.5 hours for the drive from blore station to airport...
It would depend on time of day / night. BTW, how do you plan to reach mysore from kannur by train ? To the best of my knowledge there is no direct train. You will need to change trains to reach Mysore...... And unless you have a specific reason for coming through mysore by train, i would rather think you should try and get to blore directly.. Additional inputs will help to clarify better.. ribhu |

Another option is a train from Kannur to Mangalore, about three hours.
From Mangalore take the overnight train to Mysore or Bangalore, Mangalore-Bangalore |

Hi Tara,
You have multiple routes to choose from, if you are planning to take a taxi from Kannur to Mysore. Are you planning to take some time off in Mysore, and proceed to Bangalore? Or, reaching Bnagalore airport from Kannnur is the main objective? There are two routes through Wayanad to reach Bangaore, 1. Kannur->Kutta(Kerala Karnataka border town)->Hunsur->Mysore-> Bangalore Now a days most of the overnight buses to Bangalore takes this route, road condition is very bad for a small stretch near Kutta, and traffic is allowed 24 hours. 2. Kannur->Sulthan Batheri->Gundalpet->Mysore This route is closed for night traffic(from evening 6pm or so)since it's through a National Park. Road condition is very good. It will take approx. 6 hours from Kannur to Mysore through this route in a Taxi. Another option is to take the following route, 3. Kannur->Cherkkala(take right from NH-17)-> Jalsur-> Sullya-> Madikkeri-> Mysore-> Bangalore, Here you can head directly to Bnagalore from Madikkeri if you wish. The road is in good shape and is open for traffic 24 hours, only thing is it's longer by 70-80 km compare to the other two. Some A/C buses from Kannur takes this route now to avoid the "Kutta" route. Hope this info will help you to plan your trip. |
