Information on udupi, agumbe and sringeri

Heading for Udupi to take part and photograph the Janmastami festival in first week of August. Please help with some information:
1) Reaching Yesbantapur station at 4.30 P.M.Is there direct bus service(including night service) to Udupi from station or I will have to go to Bangalore city bus stand? How long will it take?
2) If I can manage extra time, wish to go to Agumbe and Sringeri. I have heard Agumbe is called as Cherrapunjee of South. Is it worth visit? What is the stay option? Budget of course.
3) Is regular bus service(night service also) is available from Sringeri to Yesbantapur/Bangalore?

Hello,

Private buses to Udupi will be available from Yeshwantpur, but not directly from the station. you can visit any travel agency there and book tickets to Udupi. Its an overnight journey of about 8-9 hours. There are sleeper buses available for Rs 450-500. The main bus stand (Majestic) is about 6 km from the station, where you can go for the Govt buses (KSRTC).

Agumbe is definitely worth the visit. August is the time when there is heavy rainfall in that area. The waterfalls at Agumbe are Kunchikal Falls,Barkana Falls and Onake Abbi Falls.

KSRTC buses are available from Sringeri to Bangalore.

Hi Samya.. I am planning to visit Sringeri and going through the net, including IM. I understand that there are many accommodation provided by the MUtt and they might be comfortable. The only good hotel figuring is Hotel Advaith Lancer, and there are other hotels also.
