Well its monsoon season so regardless of where you go expect medium to heavy rain on more than one occasion. However its wonderful to visit these places in rainy season esp if you are planning to go in a car.Road to kemmanagundi is narrow, steep and filled with mining trucks so may be challenging/pain to drive.I personally prefer Kemmanagundi/Baba Budangiri over Coorg for weekend getaway as its less crowded.

Raining and cool.
The coffee estates may be full of leaches. So, you must be careful.

@ Radjesh

Will go with lonelyaztec " Mercara ara Medikeri or south croog is a leach infested place in the monsoon " ,Abbey falls will be a bliss to watch in the monsoon. If u are a treker kind of a person try reaching in the peak of tadiandamol Highest point in Coorg District and the second higest paek in karnataka..its highest point in Coorg District on the kerala border.

Kemmanagundi is a better option, if u get to the paek of Baba Budangiri hills on a clear day you can see the western ghats , its so said that on a claer sky day one can have a view of a Arabian sae ( sadly i have never to lucky till date ).

Have a good one.

Need help in choosing accommodation for Chimkmagalur

Hi people
I have decided to stay @ Chikmagalur for 3 days and then visit places around it like Kemmangundi, Belur etc.. As far as accommodation is concerned i spoke to a few people there providing home stays like River woods, Woody way, Eagle eye holidays and Nature craft homestays. Tariffs are more or less the same, just not sure which one to pick.

Can anybody who has been there help in deciding which one to pick?

Now it's cold and raining. I had been to coorg just abt a week back. It was cols and the monson had set in. I am back now and heard news that bagamandala , the town which you have to cross to see talacauvery (the place where cauvery river originates) is now impossible to cross because the river level has gone up and the road in submerged. Also the road which goes to talacauvery had experienced landslides. So people there are stranded.
Lucky to be back home
