Hampi/Badami Tour plan -- Feedback needed please

Hi,
Me an my wife are planning to visit Hampi from bangalore and the surrounding heritage places in September end. ITs on a tight schedule as its just for 3 days.

We have worked out a plan and it wud be rally great if you can give your comments on the plan.

Start from Bangalore (Friday night ) and reach Hospet on Saturday morning.

Day 1: Go to Hampi after Breakfast .
Full day sightseeing.

7pm start to Hospet.

Option 1: Take bus from Hospet to Bijapur (if available) and reach Bijapur by early morning . But the problem is the bus is at 11.45 pm @ Hospet !!!

HOW safe is Hospet Bus station at this time ..? Is it a safe place at night ?



Day 2: Rent a room @ Bijapur , refresh and local sighseeing. till afternoon 1 pm and have lunch.

Travel back to Aihole and check out the places.
return to Badami in the evening ( I guess it will be around 8 pm)and room check in.

Day 3 : head to pattadakkal and sight see till afternoon and get back to Badami. by 1 pm.

Badami local sight see till 5 pm.

Catch Train to Bangalore @ Badami @ 7 pm.


This is my first trip to North Karnataka. I have gone through a lotta thread @ IndiaMike..

Cna you friends help me to give your valuable thoughts on this.

I ma planning to start this Friday ( 25-Sep).. Thanks for your time and assistance !!

This would you this plan :
Day 1 = arrive at hospet, refresh, visit hampi and stay at hospet.
day 2 = travel to bijapur and travel to badami for the night stay.
day 3 = you can visit badami, pattadakal and aihole and take a night train/bus to bangalore.

All these places in three days that too using public transportation is not feasible. You will spend most of your time in buses and waiting for buses.

Either hire a cab or cut down on the number of places. In three days I would suggest going only to Hampi. You can't do justice to the place in less than two days.
