3 days looks to me a bit stretched.
Your sequence of journey could be - Mangalore-Subrahmanya-Dharmasthala-Sringeri-Udupi-Kollur- Mangalore. There are many interesting places like Kudremukh, Maravanthe beach, Moodabidri (thousand pillars jain temple), Venur ( Bahubali statue)nearby your places of visit but it will be impossible to adjust in three days. You can do Subrahmanya-Dhrmasthal from Mangalore in one day and move over to Udipi provided your purpose is only to pay visits to these temples for Darshan only. Pl note that the distance between Dharmasthala and Udipi is about 60 kms via NH17. Internal roads may take some more time to travel to Udipi. On day-2, after visiting Udipi Krishna Temple, you can proceed to Sringeri. Most probably, you may have to stay at Sringeri since it is a ghat route. On day-3, you can proceed to Kollur and visit Murudeshwar for Shiva Temple and the beach. Alernatively, from Kollur, you can come back to Udipi for night stay and on the way you can spent some time at Marvanthe. This place is unique and picturesque in the sense that on the right of NH.17 is the virgin beach and on the left is the sweet water river flowing to southern direction. On day-4, Udipi to Mangalore and time permitting, visit Malpe beach at Malpe, Venkataramana temple at Mulky and Durga Parmeshwari temple at Kateel. All journey needs to be performed on hired car/taxi to save time. Sadanand |
