Goa to Hampi We are trying to organize traveling from Goa to Hampi on Wednesday 7 November coming back to Goa on Friday 9 or Saturday 10 November. Ideally we would like to get the train but www.irtc.co.in has no availability. We've also tried www.indiarail.co.uk to book with a company based in the UK but apparently it's too late for them to issue the tickets. Is there another way we can book the train from the UK? Is the bus that bad? Everything I read and hear says it's pretty bad! Does anyone have a web address of companies that offer buses to Hampi/Hospet. We'd like to get there in the quickest most comfotable way as we haven't got much time in Goa. Thanks

| At the bottom of this page, under "Similar threads", you will see a few covering Goa/Hampi. The fastest and most comfortable way will be the train.

Cheers for that. Is there a website I can look at to find out further information on that?

The Indian railways website you mentioned, with Sadanand's train details, should do the trick. Do read the train information threads here, not an expert but look at the foreign tourist quota if trains are full

My god!! The worst bus ride ever! It took like 19 hours, no breaks for water or toilet (until we brokedown...!) Take the train, take the train, take the train!! Saying that, I met a great friend on that bus ![]()

I have been by bus and its a nightmare .I dont think 2 days is enough time in Hampi . 1st day i got there i hated it the next day i loved it and we got out push bikes and went every where. Booze is really expensive in Hampi , you want to take a bottle from Goa if you like a drink. Best restaurant is Mango tree you have to go there.
