Goa to Gokarna

Hi all,

I'm planning to visit Gokarna in sep-end. I'm flying down to Goa on weekend and move to Gokarna after 3-4 days.
What would be the best way to travel? Should I hire a Cab or Train/Bus? How many hours journey?
After spending 3-4 days there, I'm planning to go to bang to fly back home

Any tips would be welcome

It should be a maximum journey of 2 hours from Madgaon.

Cost effective would be trains and buses.

trains run daily will take 2hrs then a 15 min rickshaw ride to the town .cant wait to be there again myself but thats in january

p.s not many atms about best to take rupees with you Are you intending to stay on a beach or in town ? or like us do both as the town is well worth a day looking around the sites but be aware of the dress code also it is a good hike down to the beaches except gokarna beach itself so if your carrying a heavy load then jump on a boat at that beach to the one of your choice
Take plenty of insect repellent with you
theres a great hotel on kudle beach try to book there

Passenger train KR1 leaves Madgaon Railway station at 15:10 and arrives at Gokarna road at 17:02.
Unreserved 2nd seating only, should cost around 40 Rs one way.
