#1 - No Volvo buses but there are Ashok Leyland's aplenty, just walk out the door. Straight ahead.
#2 - I don't have an insight. ![]()

Hi,
Try THE CAPITOL RESORT, about 5-6 kms outside Madikeri on the Siddapur road. In Madikeri town stay at Hotel East End. There is a hotel near Raja's seat. I forget the name. It is pretty decent. |

I have a few Coorg road questions too.
How is the drive from Bangalore to Coorg by private vehicle? My main concern is motion sickness. I get it only on hilly roads and all my previous experience is of the roads in Uttrakhand or Himanchal Pradesh. So, what do you guys say? Are the roads from B'lore to Coorg full of twists and turns? Want to decide if I need an anti-nausea tablet or not. |

The roads aren't half as hilly as Uttarakhand or Himachal.
But they are often in worse shape, specially post monsoon. I would say keep, but don't take the tablet. |

Thanks a lot for the reply Captain. Any idea what should one try to do at Coorg and how is the Club Mahindra property? And no, I am not paying for Club Mahindra, this is a sponsored trip. I know I am being lazy and asking questions that I should search for first but grading copies makes me crazy!

Club Mahindra is good if you are not paying for it. And specially if you don't own a timeshare

As Captain has specified roads are not that curvy as in uttaranchal. Club Mahindra property is excellent so is Orange County.
Touristy places to be visited Raja's Seat, Abby Falls (Madikeri) Watch sunset at Raja's Seat & then you can enjoy the musical fountain after that. Golden Monsatery, Nisargdham (Kushalnagar) Visiting Coffee plantations Staying in a Home stay - not to be missed. Ronak. Last edited by shahronakm : Nov 21st, 2007 at 17:39. Reason: added info. |

home stays
You can check with the following for home stay
Polyacad Bungalow contact: M.A Cariappa Polaycad Bungalow, Ammathi Coorg Karnataka - 571211 India Phone : 08274 - 252240 link to visit and review http://www.holidayiq.com/resortinfo_...fromDe st=yes Have stayed there and found it good though it is a little bit pricey and away from the main attractions in Madikeri The cosy coforts of a resort are not there but has privacy and the knowledge of a local resident couple to guide you in trip planning plus great food. If allergic to dogs then avoid as the estate has a huge pair of them -friendly ones There would be more as well I am sure which you can review at http://www.holidayiq.com/desthotels....9&fromDest=yes Cheers Naya |
