Bhadra & Dandeli Wildlife Sactuary: Accommodation help

Hello Friends!

I'm Planning a trip to Karnataka this month end and would like to spend a night each in Bhadra and Dandeli. What i'm looking for is a basic accommodation preferably inside the jungles. I'm happy with bare minimum facilities but the location should be good enough.
I will start from Pune. Can anybody help me out here?
Thanks in advance.

Hi,
Inside the jungle you have only forest dept guest houses and they have to be booked well in advance either at banglore or chickmagalure for badra and at dandeli or bangalore for dandeli.
Badra wild life santuary at muthodi after jaguar valley is really very very good. Their rooms are very basic but with fantastic locations. The shaka khan guest house is on top of the hill and the other 4 cottages are facing badra river but with no electic city.
The forest dept guest house at dandeli is good but the mandurli guest house is out of the world.
But you can find other small and good home stays outside the forest area.

Thanx N Kumar!

Can the booking be done on phone or something?
I will be traveling on motorcycle from Pune. Is there any chance we can get a booking on-the-fly?
Also, how to find these numbers?
I read about Muthodi and Shigekaan, they are really nice place.
Thanks again.

Cheers!

Hi,
Booking these forest dept guest houses are a pain and you have to use high influence to book the accomodation. I will try to get the contact details within a day or two.

Fall back option could be, opposite the Dandeli bus stop, you have City Hotel, room rates starting from Rs. 100. Basic, with attached/non-attached bath. Don't bank on very clean bed sheets though. There's a jungle lodges resort, about five-six km from the bus stop, turning right. That's a bit steep at about 1500-2000 per pax per night. But the food is better there.
