Bangalore to Kollur via Kundapur
Hi there,
I am planning a week end trip with my family to visit Kollur via Kundapur.I would know from you guys on these: 1.some suggestions/tips on the route to take There are couple of routs in my mind. Route 1: -------- Bangalore - Hassan - Belur - Chikmagalur - Aldur - Balehonnur - Jayapura - Sringeri - Agumbe - Halady - Bidkalkatte - Kundapur Route 2: -------- Bangalore - Hassan - Belur - Chikmagalur - Aldur - Balehonnur - Magundi - Balehole - Kalasa - Balehole - Kalasa -Bajagoli - Karkala - Hiriyadka - Parkala - Udupi - Kundapur What do you think , the best route at this time of the year. 2.Condition of the road. 3.Some reliable service centres (in case of break down) in the passing area. 4.Good veg hotels 5.Reliable fuel stations. 6.Places to visit apart from Kollur,Udupi temples. I am planning for 23 Feb to 26 Feb. Thanks, -Dileep |

You can split the 1st route from Agumbe. ie, Go to Kundapura via Agumbe Ghaati -> Hebri -> Udupi. This way you can still visit Sringeri AND Udupi.
Road conditions were OK a couple of months ago, when I visited. All towns on both routes have decent veg restaurants, service stations and fuel stations. Sunsets and Boat rides at Maravanthe are quite popular(between Kundapura and Kollur). St. Mary's island off Udupi is also popular. In fact, there is no dearth of places around the routes you plan to take.
