mysore is approx 160 Km SW of bangalore while hampi is approx 350 KM NW of bangalore. you can save time and money by travelling hampi-bangalore-mysore or in reverse order.

Hampi is 350 km north of Bangalore, 7 hours or so. Mysore is about 140 km south west of Bangalore, 3 hrs depending on city traffic. Which would make Hampi/Mysore around 490 km, give or take. But not sure about alternate routes or condition of State Highways. |

I did this quite a while ago but without a driver - we took the train from Hospet not far from Hampi, overnight to Bangalore, then it was just a shortish bus journey to Mysore. All very simple and comfortable and much cheaper than hiring a car. You could do this in reverse also.

thanks a lot for your infos.
I'll arrive and I'll leave from Bangalore airport, that's why I try to visit Bangalore-Hampi-Mysore than Bangalore again. Aishah, which class did you pick on night train? is it clean and good? |

Because I went with my daughter and her friend and they wanted 'cheap' we went normal sleeper. For me I would have preferred 2A or 1st class! But I slept and it was just o.k. Try for 2A if you can.
