I'm travelling to Bangalore for work and will be taking 4 days off at the end - does anyone have any recommendations for Bangalore and the area surrounding it?

Would suggest the following circuit route from Bangalore :

Bangalore -
Srirangapattana ( fort, palace, bird sanctuary ) -
Mysore ( palace, museum, art gallery, sandalwood oil factory, Brindavan gardens ) -
Kushalnagar ( Buddhist golden temple, dubare elephant camp ) - Madikeri ( coffee plantations, home stays ) -
drive down sampaje ghats -
Bekal fort and beach near Kasargod, kerala ) or even beach resorts near Mangalore or Udupi -
Drive through Kudremukh National park to Chikmagalur -
Belur and halebid ( heritage temples with stone carvings ) - Bangalore

This way you would cover palaces, museums, temples, forest resorts, beach resorts, ancient heritage temples and much more...

The plan may sound over - ambitious, but trust me, it's worth it.. can be done in 5 days..

Hope this helps...
