Anyone visited bekala fort resort?

Has anyone visited Neelambari Resort near Bekala fort or other resorts nearby? We are planning a trip to Mangalore in the first week of Jan, 2010. How far is it from Mangalore? what are good places to see in a day. Any experience-good or bad-about 1/2 day house boat tours.
Thanks

Bekal is around 50 Kms from Mangalore, its actually in the state of Kerala (Kasargod district). Nearest town is Kanhangad.

Dont know much about the resort.

But do enjoy the biggest fort in Kerala

Regards,
Karthik

The area is nice. Beside Bekal Fort you should visit the fishing village of Pallikere especially in the afternoon. Last year in July stayed there three days.

Majestic view...

It's a nice place, majestic views, awesome beach. I don't know much about the resorts around, but the fort is worth a visit.
The place became much more noted after maniratnam's song.

Have fun!
