Advice on car hire to Mysore and Bandipur
I will be travelling from bangalore to Mysore. I will spend a night in Mysore and then onto Bandipur for 2 nights. Should i get 2 different car hires for the trip from Bangalore to Mysore and then onward to bandipur. Also for the return journey from Bandipur to Mysore how do i arrange that. will it be the same Mysore car hire company who took me there who will arrange for someone to pick us up after 2 nights stay. I will be travelling with a my family (2 seasoned traveller kids and usually clueless mrs).

You can definitely hire a seperate cab from Mysore for Bandipur. You can ask the hotel/resort owner whether they could arrange for cab to drop you back to Mysore? Also ask the cab operator for forward journey for the return trip. Compare the quotes and go for cheaper one.

u prolly know this, but . . . there are several trains per day from BLR to Mysore, and they only take a few hours.
It's super easy to get a taxi to and from Bandipur. I wish I had last year- the bus wasn't the best experience, lolol

Yes, you can take a bus or train from Bangalore to Mysore and then hire a car for the complete trip to Bandipur. If you have time you can even travel to Masinagudi, rest in a resort and feast your eyes on the Nilgiri mountains ...and even go to Ooty. LOL I better stop.

AFAIK the taxi that you have hired will charge you for up and down journey even if you use it only one way. I am not sure about this so please find out. Our highways and driving style can be scary. If you don't like it then train is the better option from Bangalore to Mysore.

Bangalore-Mysore is one of the best highway in India I have seen. There are regular Volvo bus services as well between Bangalore-Mysore. They are fast and safe and available more frequently.
