Accommodation in Hampi @ Xmas

Hi could anybody tell me whether accomodation will be difficult to find in Hampi over Xmas. I will be arriving on the 20th December for about 5 days.

Is it neccesary /possible to book accomodation in advance?

Could anybody suggets how much a room in a guest house will cost during this time?

I advice you to always book rooms in advance and especially during xmas as it will be peak winter season.

I stayed there in hampi during Xmas vacation in year 2007.Yes there is a little bit problem in getting room in that period.
we stayed in Karanata State Tourism Hotel which is some 4 km away from main points of intersts in a area called kamalpura for 1100 per day.we havent made any reservation at that time but if you do reservation you will be tension free.In hampi many hotels near the Vittal temple are merely houses of which one or two room are converted into hotel room.
hampi is wonderfull.
