Acco Gokarna

Hey all... 4 of us are travelling to Gokarna over the approaching weekend. Was wondering what the acco options are? we do not want to stay in the town, but away... needless to say somewhere quiet, secluded, etc etc etc

Thanks in advance!

I called the Namaste Cafe this afternoon. It seems that they don't do reservations. I'd like to go up Gokarna way next weekend. My only problem is that taking two kids on a ten hour drive is not quite the same thing as being a gap year backpacker. I'd really rather be certain that I can put them into a bed and have access to a clean bathroom at the end of the drive.

So I'd like tot o toss a couple of questions into the thread:
  1. The Om Beach resort allows me to make reservations. I've read that it is not on the beach, but "overlooks the hills and sea", whatever that means. Since it is too new to show up on Google Earth, I'm curious to know just how far it is from the beach. Is it within walking distance?
  2. Just how risky is it to go without a reservation on Diwali weekend? Are there lots of options for places to stay? Or just a few that are likely to be full?

Check out there is a KSTDC guest house on top of the hill, it seems the most exclusive spot in Gokarna, we wanted to stay but my wife was in a hurry to return home Lol
