| The Mighty Himalayas: Trip Report | | Hello,
I've just finished riding the Mighty Himalayas; from Manali into Ladakh, to explore almost every bit of it. I wanted to have a "full" experience; riding with people who have ridden extensively across the globe; camping and support vehicles and so on. So after extensive research, I zeroed in on Extreme Bike Tours. I liked that they were only 10 bikes on tour, and they seemed to be the best bet, for BBC had hired them for the Top Gear India Christmas Special. And I am glad that I picked them. I did run into a few other operators I was considering, Classic Bike Tours, Ferris Wheels and even the really expensive Global Enduro, and checking out their bikes and talking to the riders, it seemed like I had made a good choice!
Extreme Bike Tours is run by a mad and fun brit, Zander. He is one of the best tour guides I've met really, and the way he controls the group is absolutely amazing. And it came to pass that his knowledge of the terrain, roads, camping spots etc etc were second to none.
By writing this journal, I want to relive my trip, and am going to do a day-to-day trip report. This is the intro, and next journal entry will be about how I started, reaching a month early to Manali to explore thereabouts.
Can someone please tell me how i can upload pics here? I have some really good pics, I've uploaded onto the EBT facebook page https://www.facebook.com/Extremebiketours and would like to upload a few here as I write. | |
