Oshiyan from Jodhpur
Anybody visited the place of Oshiyan (or Osian) from Jodhpur. Worth a visit? What to see and how to go there? ANy local transport? Could be done in a day from Jodhpur?
....life is a journey.....and the journey is more important than the destination........

You must go there and visit the place, there are still 23 hindu and jain temples. Ossiyan was an important place between VIII and XII centuries, some of the temples are at the outskirts of the city. The most important is the Mahavira Temple (Jain).
You have trains between Jodhpur and Ossiyan and obviously plenty of buses. You can do the visit in one day as Ossiyan is 60 km from Jodhpur on the road to Pholodi - Pokaran - Jaisalmer.

There are lot of share-taxis (read jeeps) that ply between Jodhpur and Osian, just hop into one of them. I visited Mataji 's temple at Osian, it was good and also had my first and only camel safari there.
