Hey guys,
My family and I are planning to visit Mata Vaishno Devi later this year.. Does anyone know which months the Old Cave is open for Darshan. (I understand its not all year round..?)

I'd really really appreaciate someone clearing this matter up for me. We're still in our preliminary stages of arranging the trip so dates can be adjusted.

Thanks friends

The entrance through main cave is permitted only when there is lesser number of yatris visiting Bhawan.

For me, everything depends on Maa's blessing bestowed upon us (but that does not mean other's are less blessed)!
You will have to follow Shrine Board's website to check the flow of devotees and on arival you will have to regularly check with the entrance the current status at that time.
As soon as you are informed that the main gufa is open, get your parchi stamped and be in queue.

One more thing...
There is Aarti of Matajee in the morning (at 6:20 AM) & evening (at 7:00 PM).
The entries for Aarti start well before that. If you inquire at Bhawan the entry timing on the day, they will tell you. By any reason in case you miss the darshan through main gufa, you may avail attendance in Aarti

Thanks so much Prakaant,
.. You couldn't of explained it any better, all depends upon Mataji's blessings..

So to clarify this once again.. as soon as main gufa opens, there will be a notice on their official website, is that correct?

thank you for all your help and patience answering my questions

Good luck with everything , tk cr

No Shalini, You got it wrong! What actually happens. During the flow during day time it happens so that lesser number of devotees turn up at Bhawan!
It may be for say one hour or two. during that period the gufa opens and devotees are permitted to go via that route.
There would not be any notice on the website. Whaat I meant by "You will have to follow Shrine Board's website to check the flow of devotees" that the website tells the regular flow of devotees.
We leave it on luck and look for morning and evening aartis! Why not you study the official website of Shrine Board to get better idea of working at Matajee ka Darbar

Jai mata di

Mam i am a regular visitor of shri mata vaishno devi ji infact going 3rd time this year on 30th dec 2011.i usually go on 30th dec every year ,some people say me u have (multiple visa of mata vaishno devi) but thanx to mata rani.without her blessings no one can visit.ya let me tell you if you really want to go from old cave there is only option when the daily yatra drops to 8000 or less in a day then only they open the old cave, normally they open from 10th of january ,but sometimes if there is no snowfall yatries keep coming so they might change the date from 10th to 27th of january after republic day. Shri mata vaishno devi apki sabhi manokamna puri karein .

@Kamal Arora Thanks for sharing your experinces! I agree with the people that say you have multiple visas to visit Mata Rani.. I wish those visas were transferable haha! jk!
Yes indeed my mom wants to visit from Old Gufa, but in any case we will be happy either way. Mom hasn't had darshan in 20+ years and Mine and my sisters first visit. Hope it works out this year for us all..
Have a safe trip! Aapki bhi sabh manokamna puri ho. Jai Mata Di.

I agree with you, Purani gufa se nahi toh next time sahi, if Mata rani wishes! Om wowowowowwww! Sachi?!!?!!! Mata rani ki mehr thi aapke upar. wow so lucky! Ek lifetime mein kisi ke saath aisa ho toh even that's one in a million.
Aapko pata hai ki agar aarti ke liye kaise Mata rani ke saamne hona ho toh kaunsa waqt sahi hoga? Just tryign to figure everything out.. still confused. thank you

There are two ways of attending Aarti (Aarti is called "ATTKA Aarti"). One is through registration which is required to be done online. Registration opens 30 days prior to the visit date. Charges are Rs 1000/- per person. Mode of payment is through Debit or Credit Card.
You would be receiving Darshan Pass (which is called "ATTKA DARSHAN PASS") through mail. Registration is required to be done individually. One in group can do the registration for all the members of the team but one at a time.
This pass will also provide all facilities of Yatra Registration for Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine.
The reporting time for “Morning Attka” is 05:30 AM and the reporting time for “Evening Attka” is 05:30 PM. Morning and evening aarti start at 06:20. Children below Ten Years of age would not be charged. Reporting is to be done at Room No.08 of Kalika Bhawan, Bhawan.
Online Booking once done cannot be cancelled/postponed/preponed.
Second way to attend Aarti is taking chance.
You would have to ask the person on gate at what time entry for aarti would start. Generally it starts at around 04:30. Join the queue and if there is space in main hall, it would be completed on first come first enter system.
If there is no room in the main hall (which accommodates around 100 devotees), the remaining person would be accommodated in second hall where would be placed in front of Matajee's statue and be having darshan of all the proceeding through direct telecast.

Even if you go by new gufa, you will be having full darshan of Pindis, so don't worry, Matajee's blessings would be with you and your family all the time!
Maa aapki sabhi ichha puri kare!!
