Itinerary for Vaishnodevi and Amritsar

Hello Friends
I am planning to make a trip to Amritsar/Mata Vaishnodevi on last week of march
My itenary goes like this:
Day 1:Mumbai - Amritsar (25/3 Will reach Amritsar27/3)
Day 3:Visit GoldenTemple, Jalian Wala Baugh, Wagah Border.(27/3)
Day 3:Catch bus from Amritsar to KAtra (27/3)at night
Day 4:Will reach around 6.am, start trekking at 9.am(28/3)
Day 5:catch train from Jammu towards mumbai(29/3)
How this itenary looks like?
Are there any evening or night buses available from Amritsar to Katra and by what time it reaches in Katra.
Also how much time will take to complete the return trek till Bhairon Ghat,
will i be able to catch train towards mumbai from Jammu at 9.am on 29/3.
Visiting for the first time.

It would be okay ... Just remain prepared for rushing up as you would be reaching there along with heavy crowd as it would be during Navratri period!

Though the distance, between Bhawan and Bhairojee Mandir, is hardly 1.5 km but it is a steep hike. It may take around one hour to one and a half hours.

Further, you would be required to walk constantly so that you arrive at Katra early in the morning and if you do not find any bus waiting for you at Katra Bus stand then you would be required to book a cab to reach Jammu Tawi railway station.

If you are planning this during Navratras, you must factor in the long delays likely due to the waiting time in view of the huge crowds. And all facilities will be stretched to the maximum!

For that purpose, Yatra parchi could be issued online. There won't be any queue for starting yatra in such case!

You should keep at least 1 or 2 days buffer for Vaishnodevi Shrine and should also consider visiting Patni Top. You will love it.

Thank you every one for your suggestions, however unable to make my mind was unaware of this Navratri festival, should i extend the journey by one more day or my itenary is good enough to complete the Darshan by midnight of 28th,so that i can return to Katra by 6.00am and from there to Jammu to catch the train at 9.00am

Also do you guys have any idea about buses leaving at night from Amritsar towards Katra and how much time will it take to reach Katra?

My gut feeling is: you can do it by midnight of 28th March. If you do not take rest in between, then you may do it even earlier. For catching train at 9 AM, you would really require to hurry up for everything!

But, one day extra would be nice for you!

Friends,

Please review my itinerary of may 2012 also and please tell the feasibility.

We are a group of 14 persons including chilren, adults and elders.

Day 1 (May 20): Reaching Jammu at 9 AM morning and proceed to srinagar (I have already booked a tempo traveller for the entire journey). Night stay in srinagar.

Day 2 (May 21): Srinagar sight seeing, shankaracharya temple, gardens, shikara rides etc. Night in srinagar.

Day 3 (May 22): Proceed to sonmarg. See the Thajwas glacier. Is it possible to visit Baltal and Zojilla pass same day and return back to srinagar by evening? Does it worth? Night in srinagar.

Day 4 (May 23): Proceed to patnitop in early morning 5 AM. with all luggagge. Reach patnitop by 11 or 12. Check in into a hotel. Have lunch and go for patnitop sight seeing including sansar. Return back by evening. Is the time sufficient?? After sight seeing can we get some budget accommodation nearby patnitop or sansar or on the way to katra as we have a vehicle with us.

Day 5 (May 24, Thursday): Depart for katra at early morning 5 AM. Reach katra by 7. Obtain yatra parchi and proceed for bhawan by 9 AM. Is it possible? Is it difficult to get yatra parchi for same day in may month? Should i obtain online yatra parchi? What are the benefits of online yatra parchi?

Proceed to bhawan. Reach after 8 hours, around 3 o'clock. Rest in the room (will have already booked). Fresh up and proceed for darshan. Then have bhairawnath darshan and return back. Will darshan be over by morning??

Day 6 (May 25, friday): Next day morning, depart from bhawan at 7 o'clock and reach katra by 1 PM. Have lunch and proceed for jammu by 3 PM to catch train at 7 PM.

Please look into the feasibility of the itinerary...
