Budget hotels in Jammu are in the bus stand area:
The road from Jewel cinema to Vinayak Bazar to Lower Gumat to Denis Gate to Raghunath mandir is lined with small hotels and their rates are very negotiable.

You'll have to go way up in the mountains to find snow this time of year, I think. My son said there was snow up near Kargil when he went by road to Leh in early June. Not sure if it would still be there now, but he said he could get out of the car and scoop it up

I will check with locals here and let you know.

RE: Houseboat in Srinagar - you might find for 800-1000 for a boat but likely it will be without any extras. How many bedrooms would you need? They usually charge per bedroom.

Azad, Please note people give their views to help other travellers. Putting pressure on people to give their views is totally not acceptable. Atleast wait for 24 hours before asking for a response. If you are so restless, please approach a travel agent who would take some thousands.
