Weather of Kashmir right now - any info ?

Anyone is in Kashmir right now? Or back from a recent trip? Just wanted to know about the weather right now, is it raining or …….. Actually my father is going to start for Kashmir tomorrow.

I suppose, there is bus strike going on at Jammu and thousand of passangers are stranded there. Please check the latest road condition.

Well the Latest Update is that the strike has been called off, & the Buse fares have been Hiked by 14%. Thhe weather is pretty Pleasent with little Rainfall in the evenings.

Thank you, thank you so much Balvar . we were waiting for the strike update and my father will reach Srinagar after 19th so it was expected that strike will be withdrawn by that time. Could you please give me some idea – can he expect lowest temp around … say… 15 degree C?

Temp of 15 can be expected not in Srinagar, but Quite Possible in Sonmarg. Also the even the Night Temp Drop down to Max 18-19 Dgrees, not less than that in Srinagar.

I just returned from patni top, It was hot and humid.. The journey from udhampur to jammu on newly laid track was great, but it was dust and wind all the way..

Gondola ride up to Khilanmarg is an attraction (I couldn’t visit due to heavy snowfall) hope this is possible for them.

Just returned to Delhi from Kashmir, Weather in Gulmarg, Sonmarg and Pahalgam is fantastic. Yesterday it was very hot in Srinagar, close to 25C.

Yeah I just had my Gondola ride, very good but ask to them to reach early, say before 9AM to get tickets and go all the way to the top.

The weather is Srinagar is good with no need for woolens.Nighttime temp.drops to around 22 deg.Pahalgam and Sonmarg are coller with nighttime temp.dropping to 16-18 deg.
We had just retuned from J&K trip.I suggst that carrying umbrella for Gulmarg,Pahalgam would be handy as there may be light drizzle(We experienced light rain on 08 June at Pahalgam).
There is nothing much to worry and light woolens or shawls should be enough for the elderely.

Radjesh and Sonat, thank you. Thank you so much for your help. Yes, as per your suggestion one umbrella is there in the bag – no heavy woolens and they will try to reach Gulmarg early.
