Want to travel Leh to Dharamsala/Mcleod Ganj 9/1?

On 9/1 or so I will finish up my volunteer work in Ladakh and need to travel to McLeod Ganj to reunite with my girlfriend. I have read that a taxi for 4 would cost 8200 rupees. I would love to share the costs and the journey with others who might also need to go. Please let me know.

Ivan alternatively you could buy a ticket in a shared jeep I think but they cram the jeep a little more.

The share jeeps from Leh to Manali leave from the taxi stand in Leh at around 1am & take 16-20hrs (depending on conditions) through some of the most stunning extreme scenery you'll ever see. About 4yrs ago the cost was 1200Rs for front seat 1000 for middle 800 for rear (not recommended!) The price as probably increased a bit now. From Manali you can get a local bus to D'sala.

this was the same question i was pondering when i was in leh.You have to get to manali.there are two state buses and couple of private buses that leave to dharmasala .catch one of those the next day and reach dharmala about 5 am.It will take 3-4 days to reach dharmsala from leh by road.

by air,travel to delhi. catch a evening bus to dharmasala and reach dharmasala in morning.

It didnt strike me while i was in leh,but the second one is decent enough plan.cost wise (bit more) and also saves lot of time.
