I think wagnoo houseboats are now known as Gurkha houseboats. They have a tie-up with welcome group and now known as Welcome Heritage Gurkha Houseboat. Well I might be wrong also. Anyway I stayed in Gurkha houseboat last week. The owner was Mr. Wagnoo. The houseboat is really beautiful and clean. The stuff are attentive and the food they cook up in the kitchen is really great. Being in Nagin Lake, it is quite and really great if you prefer seclusion. In case you are interested to see the day-to-day activities of lake life better look for something in Dal Lake. Another thing you may miss in Gurkha HB is the interaction with the owner and his family. Though he visits the HB everyday, he is a very busy man and not always available.

Wangnoo Houseboats

I stayed on the smaller of Mr Wangnoo's houseboats just this last week. I also had the chance to see his other houseboats whilst there, very nice. The staff were very helpful and my stay was made all the better because of the service given.
