Visiting Kashmir

Hello Everyone,

I found this site while browsing net for info on Kashmir. I am planning to visit Kashmir by June end. please help me with your valuable experience on these points;

[*]We want to stay in a houseboat for 4 nights. What could be the possible costs and any suggestions are welcome on good houseboats[*]How to travel to sohnmarg, pehelgam and gulmarg from srinagar (P.S. we would be travelling to srinagar by our car)[*]Would we get houseboats easily or is it advisable to pre-book?[*]Would really appreciate if tentative cost for 4 nights/5 days could be suggested

* Saleem HB and Yuvraj on Dal Lake - I have personally stayed there.
Saleem is a tad better than Yuvraj.
* there are a couple of other Houseboats recommended by SunnyKashmir and Princess. Check the J&K forum - there are a few recommendations over there.
I'd prebook the Houseboats especially the recommended ones.

Since you have a car you can drive to all the other places you mentioned.

I would suggest Chicago houseboats, we stayed there when we visited in April
