Vaishnodevi - Srinagar - Amritsar Trip. Need Help?

Hi Guys,

I'm planning to visit Vaishnodevi temple next month with the family. The schedule is bit tight but definetly need to visit all the places. I've been to Vaishnodevi several times but bit confuse this time as added some more places this time.

Aug 15 - Mumbai to Jammu Tawi
Aug 16 - Reaching jammu, depart to Katra (Night stay)
Aug 17 - Katra - Early morning Naudevi & Shivkhori Darshan - Trekking to vaishnodevi (evening by 6)
Aug 18 - Return from Vaishno Darshan and rest
Aug 19 - Leave for Srinagar - Stay Dal Lake Haouse boat
Aug 20 - Sightseeing - Shopping - Leave for Jammu (9') clock train to Amritsar)
Aug 21 - reach Amritsar - Visit Golden temple & Jalianwala Baug
Aug 22 - Visit Mata Laldevi Temple - Sightseeing
Aug 23 - Leave for Mumbai

This is what i'm planning. What you guys think? Is it well planned? Need Suggestions.

Hello Vicky,

The road trip from Jammu to Srinagar will be atleast 8 hrs. it would be just as if you are going there to sleep for the night. Also the roads may close/be jammed up due to weather conditions.

instead stay in Jammu and do local sightseeing.

If it takes 8 hours from jammu to Srinagar, then i'll need to extend a day or need to cancel srinagar trip.

Can anyone suggest places to check out in Jammu?

One day is just not enough for srinagar.... atleast thats what I think so consider if you can add atleast 2 whole days in Srinagar to really appreciate it. you will have to have atleast 4 clear days in hand to be able to go and come back from srinangar to jammu.

Regarding Jammu you can check out many websites which will tell you about the forts, temples and gardens. also you can consider going to patnitop from Katra itself and then back to jammu.

Would request you to research and choose places according to your family's choice.
