to undertake kashmir trip in March 2012

hi all,

I am planning to go to kashmir in start of March 2012. i know its a bit early but still...We are a goup of 4people and my 1 year old baby....

will it be fine to visit Kashmir with such a small baby in March? since it will be cold i assume we need rooms with heater..are the houseboats equipped with them or should we prefer hotels with heater...

what will be the temp be like at that time of the year?
which will be cheaper renting a car for 5 days or renting car point to point basis?

I have been to Kashmir around 3 years back with my family. Had the best time of my life. We stayed in a house boat for 9 days which was at the entrance of Dal lake. But it was in September. This house boat is an average boat and they have charcoal heater but the best part about them is their hospitability. You would feel you are at home. The person to contact is Muzaffar - 9906440657.

We had hired a car for the whole trip, went to Sonmarg, Gulmarg, Pahalgam. The driver Sartaj is actually the owner, who we later came to know was a rally champion driver. His driving said for itself. His no is 9419523849.

The march month is little rain reason , but its awesome to visit, its actually starting of spring season, it better option to take houseboat, you can get homely comfort there
No need to worry about your kid, lot of people visiting below 5 year kids

the temperature is around 15 to 24 at day time and below 15 night time

tata sumo is better option then small cars its cost around 1900 to 2000 per day
try to hire the cab on day tour voice, its reasonable option for you
