Oh - I didn't take Avid's comments as flame. On the contrary! Being a pragmatic scientist myself, I am not a mumbo-jumbo man, nor a religious man in the traditional sense. So far I had always been a follower of the "prove it or else it is not real" school. But as I have various experiences in life, it opened up my mind to the "well, we just dont have any current theories to explain it" school... and sometimes...nowadays I seem to lean into the "observations/theories are good, but there is something called the experience itself - which does not need to, can not (and perhaps *should* not? dunno...) be explained or articulated!

And what Avid said was simply an important philosophical reminder of sorts to self about this last thought above.

But I digress.... enough philosophy I guess!

Happy travels, folks :-)

I'm always happy to accept that there may be things that science cannot explain, but it is important to be in possession of all the facts.

For example, just how big is this "big boulder"? What's it made of? How much does it weigh? (Is it the same object that appears in this photograph? If so, I think some of the descriptions of its size may have been exaggerated.)

Has there ever been a scientifically valid observation that eleven people can lift the stone whereas ten (stronger?) people cannot, and that they can only do so while chanting "kaa"?

As for the others who are laughing, take a look at this link.
Speaking about levitation, just Google up "levitation" in Youtube and you'll be amazed at some of the results. Since its on video, can't verify the "correctness" of those.... but there is enough fodder for the fascinated mind.

I saw a great video of the Indian rope climbing trick with some Brit soldiers. Showed it to a friend in the film indutry and he said I missed the camera alignment that hid a pole and accused me of having too many gin & tonics. I think he lacks imagination..

The first one is very interesting and a place for me to visit. The 2nd is... The 3rd is fairly well known to Aikido practitioners. I could get pretty well smacked around by my teacher without much exertion of her 100 pound bodyweight. Most of the energy came from me.

There is a great place up the coast in California that uses illusion to a remarkable degree. Few people go to that attraction anymore as opposed to theme parks..

That's just fascinating, I was picturing a form of pétanque or something. But no, (scroll down a little): http://www.elclubdigital.com/foro/sh...ad.php?t=91551. I guess "lift the socle" would come closer

My dad had a rough early life and he could do this. Part of the "trick" is to roll the item up the body. Notice the pressing into the gut. Me, I always wondered how he managed to sire children..
