Srinagar Trip from Delhi - Please Help

Hello friends,

Currently I'm in Delhi and I'll get 3 days leave next week. I'm planning to visit Srinagar and I need some help. This is what I have planned.

01/Jun - Take night bus from Delhi
02/Jun - Reach Jammu in the morning, Hire a cab and reach Srinagar in afternoon
03/Jun - Visit Gulmarg and Dal lake
04/Jun - Visit Sonmarg
05/Jun - Start for Pahalgam, visit Baisaran, Sheshnag Lake, start for Jammu, reach Jammu in the evening, take night bus to Delhi
06/Jun - Reach Delhi

I have following queries.

1. Do you think this plan is feasible? We are 2 friends, age mid-twenties.
2. Are cabs in Jammu-Srinagar route readily available? How much I have to pay for this trip?
3. Can you please share some info about the bus service from Delhi to Jammu? Where should I board from? Actual time it takes?
4. How long it'll take to reach Srinagar from Jammu by a cab?


I know Kashmir deserves more than 3 days, but I have already travelled places which can be covered in 3/4 days from Delhi. And since I'll leave Delhi soon I can't let these 3 days getting wasted, so please help.

AVAILABLE ALL THE TIME. YOU WILL BE DRAGGED INTO A CAB BY THE DRIVERS THERE ARE SO MANY. I ALWAYS RECOMMEND TAKING MIDDLE/FRONT SEAT. BACK SEAT WILL MAKE YOUR LIFE MISERABLE. I WOULD RATHER NOT TRAVEL THAN TAKE A BACK SEAT. STAY AWAY FROM IT. TRUST ME ON THIS ONE

3. Can you please share some info about the bus service from Delhi to Jammu? Where should I board from? Actual time it takes?
DELHI WILL LEAVE AT MAX 10 AND IT TAKE AROUND 12 - 14 HOURS TO REACH JAMMU (FOR SURE) . PLEASE AND PLEASE GO TO RED FORT AT ABOUT 5. BOOK YOUR TICKET AND HAVE YOUR DINNER THERE OR PACK IT FROM SOME RESTAURANT. THE FOOD AT THE DHABAS IS MISERABLE. YOU WILL HATE IT. I PROMISE YOU THAT. SO DONT THINK ABOUT LEAVING WITHOUT DINNER UNLESS YOU PACK SOMETHING.

4. How long it'll take to reach Srinagar from Jammu by a cab?
8 HOURS IF NO TRAFFIC JAMS.

Got answer of all my queries, just one quick question. You are advising not to take back seat during Jammu to Srinagar trip. Does it mean that you are talking about shared cab? If that's the case then I want to know how much they charge per person. And how much they charge if we book the cab?

there is no point to book the whole cab. Go for shared cab. It will be fun with other random guys in the cab. Prices I am not sure about. Cannot be more than 500-600 per person. I travelled with my gf to kashmir so i booked all the three in the middle. Very cosy. Don't fully book the cab unless you are minted and want privacy.
