Once you reach Manali, you have couple of options for reach Rishikesh, which would depend on the amount of days you have in hand.

How many days are you planning to spend on this trip and what all places are you planning to visit en route?

Permits are only needed for restricted areas like Nubra, Pangong, Tso Moriri, Dah-Hanu.

Weather would be pretty good in September, though it would start to get cold and you might witness snowfall at a few passes.

Opel Corsa shouldn’t have any issue as long as it is in good condition and you drive carefully.

I am planning to spend around 2 days from Srinagar to Leh, 4 days in Ladak, 1 day from Leh to Manali and then to Rishikesh as soon as possible since I need to come back to kolkata fast.Max 3 days from Rishikesh to Kolkata.

My entire trip will be quite long. As I will enter J&K after completing my Rajasthan trip, via amritsar, pathankot.

Is there any Nallah on Srinagar Leh or Manali Leh route? Do I need to cross them? What is the generally depth of water there? I'll not be comfortable driving my car over water depth more than 6 inch.

I'm sorry I have no answers for you.. just another question! Does anyone know how long it would take to drive from Rishikesh to Srinagar? Is there a better option than driving? We will be there in July.

From Rishikesh travel to Jammu in a train

4609 Hemkunt Express starts from Rishikesh at 4:20 PM and reaches Jammu exactly 24 Hrs. later at 4:20 AM.

From Jammu you can fly to Srinagar or take a shared Sumo or A regular bus to Srinagar.

Driving all the way will be too hectic........
