Srinagar in Late Oct

Hi All,

Visiting Srinagar in late Oct (24th-31st) for 7 nights with family, wife, 2 kids, parents and another couple. Have some basic questions...

In srinagar, will we able to see the Tulip garden?
Is it worth visiting Yusmarg, along with the regular Sonmarg (day trip), Gulamrg (1 night) and Pahalgam (2 nights)
I have booked heevan resort in all 3 places. any reviews about them?
Will we get to see snow in Gulmarg?
Any other travel tips for a 7 month old infant along with us?
Keenly awaiting your replies..

Vishal, are you booked with Heevan Hotel at Pahalgam?

Here are a few pics of the place:

Excellent location but very average upkeep!

Snow is likely at Gulmarg. The weather patterns are changing; it's difficult to say!
Sonamarg is an enchanting place and merits an overnight stay!

thanks for the pics

Thanks for PICS man..

in Pahalgam, i am staying in Senator Pine n Peak. It seems that is one of the better properties in Phalagam and also belogns to the same Heevan group.

It will be great to see snow in Gulmarg.Sonmarg, i couldnt find any decent place to stay, especially with infant with us.

Hi Vishal

The two hotels you are talking in Pahalgam I think you will be spending a fortune on them. I will suggest you to stay in Mantoo Cottages. I was there for two nights recently. It was 750INR/day. The location is scenic and the rooms small but very neat and clean and the staff very very friendly. Mr Mantoo the owner was there during our stay and he organised camp fires and lots of activities in the night time in the gardens. They serve quality food also. I liked the overall stay in the hotel. If you want I can give you Mr Mantoo's number also.

Kunal, from Katra, first night stay should be Patnitop. Next should be Pahalgam. Then Srinagar!
Both Patnitop and Pahalgam are must-do places.

Thanks a lot Anup!

But is it really possible to fit two more places in this itinerary.
I think then I have to skip Gulmarg or Sonmarg.

One more query: This is not the perfect forum for this but could someone please tell me how to send PM?

Hi rshagrawal,

you have mentioned that you are in Kashmir from 1st to 5th Dec. Kashmir is a very wast saying. No one can define its good or bad plan unless you mention the places in Kashmir like pahalgam, srinagar, gulmarg etc.
