sankarayacharya temple srinagar

1.how to reach the sankaracharya temple which is at 1100 feet height?
2.what is the mode of transport?by foot,on ponies?or cable car?
3.where to get cabs in jammu for only2 people (not shared) for one week or so to cover all sight-seeing places in Jammu,srinagar sonamarg pahalgam etc?
4.what is the reasonable rent?(including taxes and driver batta)
5.suggest the names of reliable cab agents.
6.will the tourism department provide any cabs?

1) You can take a Private Cab or an autorickshaw to go at the footsteps.
2) You will have to climb the steps by yourself..It just takes on an average not more than 20 minutes for an average person to climb the steps.and 10-15 minutes to climb down.
3)Dont think of walking to Shankaracharya temple from the Dal Lake..it will take a lot of time..and its not worth it as well..when you can cover that point by auto.
4) You can cover Srinagar , Pahalgam, Sonmarg and Gulmarg in Srinagar and Vaishnovdevi teomple in Katra . theres nothing much to visit in Jammu.
5)Govt of kashmir have tourist buses everyday to go to these places. you can get the information from the bus depot at Lal Chowk.
6) Dont rely on private cabs..they will charge you a fortune for a place which is close by....
