Hi minkush, Welcome to IndiaMike!
![]() Have you considered which places you want to visit, your budget etc. Do you have a rough itinerary? Try some of the threads at the bottom of this page or search the older posts in the J&K forum. They may help you decide. |

I think if you are going to Katra first you should try booking package tours in there itself. Any specific reason for choosing package tours? I always like the flexibility of making my own travel arrangements than depending on a packaged plan.

No No ! The travel agents are Jammu and Katra are big time cheaters.... There may be some good people, but I am yet to hear about them..
Manage your own, it's doable... In Jammu there is a Taxi Operator, Vicky, he is good, contact at 9419114869 Gulmarg Stay options are: Hotel Hill Top, you may contact Sultan bhai at 09419033838 J&K tourism huts contact : 09419008112 Hotel Green Heights, contact Govind at 09419752226 or 01954254404 For Sonmarg you may contact, tourist reception centre head Farook Bhai, his contact no. is 09419589010 Gulmarg people are very pushy, hence it's advisable to book a place in advance.

you dont need to book for kashmir hotels now as the tourists flow is very low now just walk in and check in with a good bargain in any of the hotels.

taxi hired in srinagar, jammu can't be used in phalgam for local seightseeing ?
hi, this is minkush
thanks everyone for the reply of my previous thread. as i was reading all thread, i just come up with new thing that taxi hired from srinagar, jammu etc can't be used in phalgam or other places for local seighseeing. as the local taxi operators of these places don't allow and create problem for this. is it true? i am asking this because i thought iwill hire a taxi in jammu or katra itself for the whole week trip to kashir and get back to jammu with the same. plese reply me for this.thanks |

Minkush, one suggestion... try posting all related questions in the same thread. That way its easier to get more responses. You see, people who responded to the previous thread have it subscribed for updates (mostly) so a new thread may get lost but old thread won't.
