Planning Jammu Trip in last week of June / First Week Of July

Dear All,
we are planning a trip to kashmir in the last week of june or in the first week of July, we are planning to visit srinagar,gulmarg,phalgam,sonma rg
what will be the weather conditions at that time, will there be any snow in gulmarg for skiing, last time during summer our visit to MANALI was v dissapointed as we couldnt find any snow, how will it be in kashmir in late June, if not heavy snowfall, will there be atleast a considerate amount of snow,
appreciate a reply from the people who have visited there, or ppl having knowledge about it.

In the month of June / July you'll find snow at Sonmarg in huge quantity at stage 2 of Gondola, sonmarg is better than gulmarg in the concern of snow

Delhi -Amritsar

Day 1 -25/26.06.10 pick up at Delhi Air port on 25.6.10 at night 11.30 pm

by Innova And proceed to Amritsar Night Journey. Delhi – Amritsar 475km/9 hour,

Reach by 9.00 AM on
26.6.10, check in to hotel fresh up,visit Golden Temple, Jallianwala bagh, evening Indo Pak border Night stay at Amristar


Amritsar - Patnitop


Day2- 27.06.10 Early Morning proceed to Patnitop(290km/7hrs), local sight seeing at patnitop and night stay and patnitop.



Patnitop – Pahalgam-Srinagar



Day3- 28.06.10 Early Morning Proceed to Pahalgam190km/6hrs.

The vally of shepherd Enruote visit Avantipur Ruins and view saffron fields later reach Srinagar Night stay at srinagar



Srinagar – Gulmarg - Srinagar


Day4- 29.06.10 Morning proceed to Gulmarg58km/2hrs. Enroute , View apple orchardsVisit the Golf Course and the Longest cable car ride up to Khilanmarg Snow point.

Later back to Srinagar Night stay

Day5- 30.06.10 After breakfast Visit Shankaracharya temple, Shalimar garden, Nishat Bagh GardensChashmashahi Gardens Evening Shikara boat ride on the dal lake covering bathing boats and CharChinar. Night stay



Srinagar – Katra


Day6- 01.07.10 After breakfast proceed to Katra270km/10hrs. Night stay at Katra



Day7- 02.07.10 Morning Visit Mata Vaishno Devi Evening proceed to Dharmasala 230 km / 4 hrs Night stay at Dharmshala



Day8- 03.07.10 Morning local sight seeing in Darmashala & by 4 pm proceed to Delhi. 482 km / 8 hrs. Night stay at delhi

I wouldn't recommend spending time in amritsar or vaisnodevi in te peak of summer in june. Head directly towards patnitop or srinagar.

25.06.2010 Delhi – Amritsar (475kms / 9hrs)

Arrive Delhi Airport at 1130PM. Pick-up & proceed to Amritsar by night journey.

26.06.2010 Amritsar

On arrival, transfer and check-in the hotel. After freshen-up visit Golden Temple, Jallianwala Bagh & Wagha Border. Over night stay at hotel.

27.06.2010 Amritsar – Srinagar (450kms / 12hrs)

Early morning proceed to Srinagar. Over night stay at hotel.
28.06.2010 Srinagar – Gulmarg – Srinagar (58kms / 2hrs)

Morning proceed to Gulmarg, enroute visit apple orchards. Visit the Golf Course and the longest cable car ride up to Khilanmarg Snow. Later drive back to Srinagar. Over night stay at hotel.

20.06.2010 Srinagar - Sonmarg

Full day excursion to Sonmarg (Meadow of Gold). visit Thajiwas Glacier where snow remains round the year and if time permits Go Up The Zojila Pass.and teturn back to srinagar

30.07.2101 Srinagar - House boat
check into to house boat.. later..Full day sightseeing tour to Srinagar, visit Sri Shankaracharya Temple, Shalimar Gardens, Chasmashahi Gardens, Nishat Bagh Gardens and take a Shikara ride on the DAL lake covering Nehru Park and Char Chinar. Over night stay at House boat

01.07.2010 Srinagar –Pahalgam- Katra

Early Morning proceed to Pahalgam.the vally of shepherd, enroute visit Avantipur Ruins and view saffon fields. Later proceed to katra.. On arrival, check-in the hotel.overnight stay at hotel

02.07.2010 Katra – DelHi

morning proceed to mata vasihno devi, come back to hotel ,after few hours of rest, night proceed to delhi.

Srinagar to pahalgam to katra is not possible in a day..skip it or skip vaishnodevi or amritsar. You can do amritsar-vaishnodevi later..going all the way to kashmir and spending just 3 days is not giving justice to kashmir.
