Need suggestion for my Itinerary

I am a Solo traveller. This is an itinerary which i prepared, Kindly give proper guidance to make my itinerary better.

Day 1(10th sept)- Sreenagar- Evening local sight seeing.

Take rest and some local site seeing/ or shikara ride in the evening.

Dinner at krishna dhaba/ mughal darbar- for Wazwan near dal gate/ or from HB .

Book ticket at JKSRTC for Gulmarg trip at TRC(tourist reception center), Buses leave at 8.30am and return by 9pm


Day 2- Sreenagar- Gulmarg (56km) max 1-2hrs

Gondola ride- phase 1- 300Rs and phase 2- 500Rs- Book online or buy tickets from Srinagar airport or TRC- Srinagar

Site seeing by shared taxi/ individually rented taxi.

, Wullar lake, Khir Bhawani, mansabal , Nanga Parbat and Haramukh, worlds highest golf course

Cuisine- try a traditional dish, called Rogan Josh.

Return to srinagar in the evening

Book tickets for Sonmarg trip at TRC.

Day 3- sreenagar – sonanmarg (98km from srinagar) -'Meadow of Gold'

Thajewas Glacier

Nilagrad, the confluence of mountain rivers with the Indus river. The most amazing aspect of this place is that the river water is pure red in colour, and is believed to have curative powers for skin ailments.

Krishnasar Lake, - If possible try fishing.

Return to srinagar.

Day 4- sreenagar- pahalgam- (104km around 3.5-4.00 hrs)

Checkout from HB and start at 7.00-7-30am

SXR- Anantnag- Pahalgam by shared taxi

Chandanwari,Baisaran,Sheshnag Lake,Panchtarni


Pahalgam stay ay zabrina guest house, cont person :Afzal bhatt / Brown palace,

Day 5 Pahalgam- Aru wild life sanctuary,Aru valley, Betaab valley by car (in 4 hrs time) or Kashmir valley

Restaurants- lala cottage, white house

Return to Srinagar, From Pampore- Buy Saffron , Avantipur ruins, Cricket bat factory.

Day 6- sreenagar-

Shikara Ride Early morning, then local site seeing by Auto.

Lal Chowk- For some shopping
. Shankaracharya (Camera not allowed- so might not prefer), Hari parbat, Pari mahal, Chashma Shahi garden, Shalimar bagh, Nishat bagh , botanical garden, Hazrath bal shrine, Khanqah-e-Molla

Day 7-
Shikara ride – early morning till 10am, have breakfast and to Srinagar airport.

I have some doubts regarding Pahalgam visit, Is it better to make pahalgam visit on day 1 itself and stay there, then return to srinagar, so i can cover the rest of places from srinagar. Kindly guide me.

Must take id card( driving license/ passport copy) postpaid airtel/ bsnl connection.

Notice
1. Hari Parbat is closed, you can go under Hari Parbat there is a sikh temple.
2. If you go by bus to Gulmarg you will have just time to go by gondola to the top and have a time to enjoy it and no more time.
3. Shankaracharya, there is not allowed camera at temple but you can take your pictures of Srinagar if you are on the road there and there is nice view
4. Eat a good food as much as you can
5. Do not be too hard to yourself by a lot of travelling and enjoy your fishing.

Nanga Parbat is in Pakistan. In sight seeing you can cover Kheer Bhavani temple, Mansabal lake and Wullar lake and let me tell you road condition of this route is poor.
From Wullar (Watlab) to Srinagar, road is excellenet by Sopore.

Return to srinagar.

Little hectic for a day trip and if you are going by JKSRTC bus it is not possible to cover all these.

Baisaran is at different location and Chandanwari-Sheshnag-Panchtarni are on Yatra route. Not possible to cover all these in a day.

Betaab valley you can visit while going to chandanwari and Kashmir valley you can see while going towards Baisaran

Shikara Ride Early morning, then local site seeing by Auto.

Hari parbat is closed for tourist. Do visit Shankaracharya as view from this place is very good.
Day 7-
Shikara ride – early morning till 10am, have breakfast and to Srinagar airport.
It is better option.

How about sreenagar – sonanmarg in shared taxi. or Srinagar to all places (Gulmarg,sonanmarg, pahalgam) in shared taxi?

Local site seeing in Non-shared taxi?

I need your suggestion for Pahalgam local visit, which all places to be covered on Day 4 and which all places in Day 5?

If i go to pahalgam directly from srinagar on Day 1 then i need 3 night stay at pahalgam... as i will reach srinagar by 2pm only.. so Srinagar- pajalgam around4-4.5 hours.. So that day site seeing not possible.

After sunset you cant do any sight seeing so plan accordingly what you want to do & you are doing same on day 6 try doing something different today try Zabarwan Park Etc this day, Shikara you can do. Mughal Darbar & krishna dhaba is away from dal lake you need auto for it & if you love to walk you can 45+ minutes from ghat no.9 minimum

If you use personal taxi starting from 6:00, then also you wont cover it, Forget about JKSRTC bus then, in kashmir you can not easily reach the main spot you have to do many walk's Pony Ride to reach there so it takes lots of time, & road to wullar lake is bad, Even Kashmir tourism pamphlet has deleted its name from it, i don't want to dis heart you but give you practical advice , so last day you wont feel bad

you can enjoy beauty of one place in one day only, try avoding multiple place its look good on paper but practically quite hectic

go for baisaran valley if u want differnt but its only by pony ride 3 hours

How you will return from pahalgam, shared taxi will not stop everywhere, anyway Avntipur will be last spot this way & if it turned dark you will not see anything there

Day 6- sreenagar-

Shikara Ride Early morning, then local site seeing by Auto.

Lal Chowk- For some shopping

If you planning morning shikara go for littel more early around 5:30 go for wholesale market is one of moment you will not forget then go for regular 4 chinar, graden, vegetable round in dal lake And for Hari Parbhat you may need army permission not sure but heard it

In your case it will be better to reach on day 1 itself to Pahalgam, therefore next day you can cover Baisaran, Aru, Betaab Valley and Chandanwari and can even leave to srinagar late evening or next day early morning
In your itinary trekking up to sheshnag lake is not feasible.

I will change my itinerary accordingly. Day 1 directly to Pahalgam , Day 2- Site seeing in Pahalgam and return to Srinagar.


Nilagrad,- I read some where that the colour of the river is RED. Any idea about route to this river?

Yousmarg- How can i include in my itinerary ?

I know i might not be able to cover all these places, but still i will try my level best.

Will avoid those places which are not recommended.

Day 1- evening at pahalgam
Day 2 - Pahalgam local sightseeing and in evening move to Srinagar
Day 3 - Day trip to Gulmarg
Day 4 - Day trip to Sonmarg
Day 5 - Local sightseeing at Srinagar
Day 6 - Day trip to Yusmarg ( You can either opt for Wullar lake, Mansabal and kheer Bhawani or Yusmarg)
Day 7 - Return back

This is what I feel best suited to you, you can change the day of local sight seen at srinagar.

@SP gupta- Will plan accordingly as u suggested. I was also thinking the same- Day1 at Pahalgam and stay there.

I made a combination of local buses and an auto of Srinagar. Even from the top of Shankaracharya temple I went with a rickshaw driver at front seat. Who knows the road will understand that it was dangerous.

I wanted to hire a rickshaw for all day in Srinagar but there was always many questions how many places and others. I preferred to be independent to change my plan.
