Need help regarding taxi/sumo fare from srinagar to gulmarg and pehalgham

Hi,

Can anyone let me know, how much will a sumo/taxi will cost if we plan to hire one for sightseeing purpose from Srinagar to Gulmarg and Srinagar to pehalgham?

Also please advise, if it is better to go in a package plans as made by different houseboats or hotels or to roam around individually?

Need some quick response, as we are planning to visit from June 22, 2011 to June 26, 2011. Our plan as mentioned below:

Reaching srinagar on June 22nd, 2011 in the afternoon, only half day is left, so might indulge in Shikara ride and roam around the market places of srinagar in the evening.

2nd day - we have plan to go to Gulmarg, spend the entire day and come back to srinagar in the late evening.

3rd day - Planning to go to Pehalgham, spend the entire day and again come back to srinagar to our houseboat.

4th day - planning to roam around all sightseeing places in Srinagar.

5th day - after breakfast need to depart for airport. we need to catch a morning flight.

Please advise if this itinerary looks good.

i think you not like to visit sonumarg, Sonumarg is best place in whole kashmir< You should visit this places
in my suggestion you can visit like that

Day 1 Arrival and Mughal garden tour and shikara ride
Day tour of Gulmarg and back to srinagar
Day3 Tour of Phalagam and back to srinagar
Day tour of Sonumarg and back to srinagar
Day5 Airport Departure and back to srinagar

yes mughal garden and Hazratbal shrine is worth to visit

I am also planning to visit on 23rd of May and I opt for a package tour. So I have a small car for the entire trip. Srinagar, Sonmarg, Pahelgaon and Gulmarg along with the Airport transfer. All these cost around 15k for the 6 days ( Fuel and Driver cost inclusive).

He probably meant 15000 for only car. I dont think you can get car + accommodation in that price.

No Dvenkat, i think he meant full cost. just 3 days back i returned from kashmir. i also opted for package tour

package included:

Hotel accomodation, breakfast + dinner, houseboat stay,transportation etc

i paid 30,000/- for 2 persons.

I got a deal from Blooming Dale very recently. They are charging around Rs. 25,000 for 4 nights and 5 days that includes 2 nights stay in Blooming Dale Cottage with Breakfast and Dinner and 2nights stay in Deluxe House boat with breakfast and dinner, visit to gulmarg, pehalgham and Sonamarg and srinagar local sightseeing in a car at ur disposal, 1 Shikara ride for 2 - 3 hrs,all Taxes ,toll,entry fees to all sightseeing places and gardens and also guided by Guides. This excludes - lunch, gondola ride, pony ride.
I read the review in Travel advisor.com and found excellent. If you find this deal interesting you can send a mail with ur own itinerary and u will get a prompt reply. I sent mails to so many hotels and houseboats but got no reply from them till now. But to my surprise I got reply from Blooming dale within 20 mins from the time I sent them mails. You can mail them in this email id -

my itinerary:

Day 1: board flight to srinagar from delhi, transfer to hotel baisaran in Pahalgam from airport. overnight @ hotel

Day 2: aru valley tour (in separate car, not included in package), pony ride to visit main attractions in pahalgam (like baisaran, kashmir valley etc)

Day 3: transfer to Gulmarg Resort in Gulmarg, overnight in hotel

Day 4: morning gondola ride, evening transfer to houseboat in srinagar

Day 5: sightseeing in srinagar, shikara ride

Day 6: day trip to sonmarg

Day 7: day free in houseboat, shikara ride

Day 8: return to delhi

will recommend Hotel baisaran and Chicago houseboat, but i m not impressed with Gulmarg resort.

Taxi was available throughout our trip. on Day 7 we spent quite a good time in mughal gardens and also had lunch in mughal darbar.

our package includes: transportation,hotel, food (breakfast and dinner), shikara ride

doesnt include: pony ride,goldola ride costs etc

u need woolen dresses to roam in pahalgam, gulmarg and sonmarg. in srinagar night temperatures will be chilly..
